In 2008, a few new players joined the ''Skibbereen Eagles''. The team trained very hard and became much stronger. There was only one goal - to win division 2 and get opportunity to play at a higher level in division 1. ''Skibbereen Eagles'' were unstoppable in the 2008 - 2009 season and became a champions in division 2. That meant they were granted the opportunity to play in division 1 next season. It was a big day for Men's basketball in Skibbereen.

2009-2010 season for a ''skibbereen eagles'' was a new experience on a higher level of basketball in division 1.The core of the team remained the same,so Skibbereen played very well,in the end of 2009-2010 season ''Skibbereen Eagles'' stayed fourthly of 10 teams.
Before 2010-2011 season,the team left two good players because of genuine reason,it was a hard time to us,yes of course we found a few new guys,but wasn't enough time to become a strong team as we were.With a help of fans we won most home games,but that wasn't enough to take a higher place then the sixth,so in 2010-2011 season we took a sixth place in division 1 league of ten teams.
2011-2012 season started with basically a new players,because seven players left the team after 2010-2011 season,only five of us left from that year.It was most hardest time for the team ever,wasn't any players around who would like to joint to the team,but before the season starts we got some players who joined to us,so we manage to set up the team,but the time to get know each other as a players was gone.It was worst season for the team since the team been created,because division 1 was so strong that year and we were played first year together as a team,so we finished season in last place and because of that we lost the place in division 1,we been kicked out to division 2 where we started.

2012-2013 season ''Skibbereen Eagles'' will play in division 2.The core of the team remained the same and we also got a two new players,so we all looking forward to this season.It doesn't matter if we fall down,it's whether we get back up.
Finally 2012-2013 basketball season is over,so we can have overview over all season. If someone would ask to describe all season I would say that season was very successful. Our main goal of the season was delivered... with 11 wins and 3 loses Skibbereen took second place in the league which promotes us to Division 1 next season - higher level of basketball.
What makes our successful season even more successful is that - that we won 2012-2013 Division 2 Championship. No one couldn't stop Skibbereen train in Division 2 Championship. In terms of basketball this 2012-2013 season is the best basketball season Skibbereen ever had... Well done lads!!!
2013/2014 SEASON
After successful season 2012/2013 we been promoted to D1,but 2013/2014 season in D1 league wasn't as successful as as in D2 2012/2013.First of all it was a higher level of basketball there and also injury's.What I mean by saying that - we had a lot of injury's all season long.we haven't play even one game all players together,it's always been that we were missing 3-5 injured players every single games.That's effected our results all season long,however we with 6 wins and 10 loses shared 6-8 place at the end of season out of nine teams,which is not bad over all bad moments we had this season,but the best thing is of that that we preserve our place in D1 for next season 2014/2015
